QFD and the voice of the customer (12/28/2007) - In building mybackend.com we realized that getting information from your customers is a powerful tool to any business. It's extremely powerful to get the voice of the customer and understand what they want. Lately I've stumbled on QFD and how using the House Of Quality concept from it businesses are determining the voice of the customer. I find it quite amazing how Six Sigma has adopted this tool and how well I think it can work.

I've found a great site that made it easier for me to understand QFD and House Of Quality. They've got some nice articles that have explained the usage of QFD on www.qfdonline.com. They also have a nice House Of Quality template for excel that I can use to apply the pricipals in my own work. I've used these templates with good success: www.qfdonline.com/templates/. I hope to write more about this later...I've got some ideas how mybackend.com will fit into this.
